Stories from the Field - meet Preethi, one of our sponsored children and family!

"Hi, Greetings to you all. I'm so happy to share my school life here. My name is Preethi, I live in the village called Chokkanally which is in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. I live with my lovely mom and my younger brother. When I was about 6 years old my sick dad was killed by a wild elephant. I was told by my mom to discontinue my studies and stay at home so that I can help my mom when she goes for the daily wages. I loved my studies, school, class mates and travelling to school every day. When my mom told me to discontinue my studies, I felt that my heart was stopped. I mourned and cried lot but my mom refused to hear me, because who will take care of my needs? Now I'm studying in 10th standard and I'm going to write my public exams this year. Because of Adventure Ashram and Grace Charitable Trust I regained my school life and I could concentrate my studies and help my brother and encourage him too as he is getting ready for his public exams next year. I enjoy my studies and my school even though I'm a slow learner. I have many friends and I have very big dream about my future. Thank you all."
