Join this one-of-a-kind trip to awaken your senses, heal your body and expand your mind!
Charity, Yoga & Cultural Trip to South India
26th March - 2nd April, 2025
This trip is the first of its kind and is a rare opportunity to visit Adventure Ashram and Yoga Stops Traffick's charity partners, to develop or deepen your yoga and mindfulness practice, to participate in (or watch) the Yoga Stops Traffick Day flagship event outside the gates of the Mysore Palace, to awaken your senses and experience India’s vibrant culture in bustling Mysore, and then sooth your soul in the calming Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
The two grassroots partners that this trip is supporting and you will be visiting are:
The Odanadi Seva Trust – a pioneering anti-trafficking organisation based in Mysore.
The Grace Charitable Trust – providing access to education to tribal children in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
You will visit both the Odanadi boys’ and girls’ rescue homes in Mysore, whose running costs are part-funded by Adventure Ashram and Yoga Stops Traffick, and will have the option of getting a beautiful henna design painted on your body or a beauty treatment from the girls on the beauty training course, adding a personal touch to your journey.
You will visit the Grace Charitable Trust and see children getting on and off the school buses Adventure Ashram funds, with the possibility to ride a school bus (TBC) and play with the children in the tuition centres also funded by Adventure Ashram.
You will be invited to participate in five vinyasa flow yoga and mindfulness classes, suitable for all bodies and abilities, led by 500-hour certified yoga teacher, Karina (wildyogalife.com). Karina has over 10 years’ of experience in teaching all bodies ranging from pregnancy yoga, strong vinyasa flow classes, gentle flow classes and chair yoga. Karina is very aware of the energetic world and brings a spiritual element including energetic awareness into her classes.
This is a not a normal trip—it's an immersive experience into the vibrant world of Indian culture, it’s an opportunity to bring healing to your body, mind and soul through the practice of yoga, it’s a chance to be humbled and inspired by our incredible partners and the people they support, and it’s a chance to feel a sense of wonder as you meet people who have suffered some horrific life experience but live a life of joy and positivity. It may just change your life.
The children from the charities will greet you with enormous smiles and open arms as they will be very excited to meet supporters of the charity which means so much to them.
The trip is being led by Karina – Charity Coordinator for Adventure Ashram and Yoga Teacher. She will be there to solve any problems, ensure the trip flows smoothly, guide you through the healing yoga classes, and get lost in conversations about the energetic world with you!
This trip will fill you with gratitude for what you have, and will bring a sense of hope, inspiration and wonder back into your life.
