Our 2018 Christmas Appeal... Could This be The Most Important Gift You Give This Christmas?

The Holidays are Here, but Trafficking Doesn’t Stop at Christmas!

Ramesha was eight years old when he was trafficked. He was sent to wealthy people’s houses for work and was made to perform domestic duties in the day and sexually abused at night. “Every day used to be horrid for me” says Ramesha, now living at the Odanadi boys’ safe house in Mysore, India. Since staying at Odanadi, Ramesha has returned to school, participated in rehabilitation programmes and taken part in the Odanadi bakery training. Ramesha is feeling safe and dreams of one day starting his own bakery.

South Asia, with India at its centre, is one of the fastest growing regions for human trafficking in the world. An estimated 135,000 children are believed to be trafficked in India alone every year. Many victims are from poor rural areas and lured by traffickers with promises of good jobs, only to find themselves or their children forced to work in fields or brick kilns, enslaved in homes as domestic workers, or sold to brothels.

Adventure Ashram works tirelessly with our local partners in India to provide opportunities and support for some of the most vulnerable women and children in the world. Our partners at Odanadi Seva Trust have provided safe places, rehabilitation and support for over 12,000 women and children and they have returned almost 1,400 missing children to their families.

This Christmas please help re-unite families and bring care and love to the survivors of trafficking at the Odanadi safe houses. A gift of £40 will help us provide one child rescued from trafficking with shelter, food and care for a whole month. A gift that touches and changes lives!

Listen to this heart-warming thank you and Christmas greeting from the Odanadi boys and Stanly and Parashu the Directors of Odanadi Seva Trust.
